private Drum lessons
Drums is one of our most popular instrument and is suitable for students age 7 and up!
Drum lessons are available at our facility for all levels and ages. Drum students will learn on our Ludwig acoustic drum kit or state-of-the-art Yamaha electronic drum kit located at the Opus Music School facility.
Students will understand the basics of keeping a steady beat, how to properly hold drumsticks, and how to jam to different styles of music. Whether you are interested in playing drums with pop music, rock, or other styles, our drum teachers can help. Our drummers can also have the opportunity to play in a small band setting and jam in a group that they will learn during drums lessons.
Most of our drum teachers use the Ultimate Realistic Rock book by Carmine Appice. For children, there is a Realistic Rock for Kids series, which is age-appropriate and moves at a pace suitable for children. Most of our drum students also work on actual rock or pop songs and learn to play drums along with the actual tracks.
All of our drum students are eligible to participate in our annual recitals, special projects throughout the year, and special performance opportunities such as open mic night.
We also offer group band classes.
