Sign Up to Perform in the Opus Spring Recital!
Registration is now open for the Opus Spring Recital on Sunday, May 15, 2022! All active Opus students can use our online registration system to sign up to perform in one of our free 4 programs. Performance slots are available on a first come first serve basis.
Opus Spring Recital 2022
Where: Hacienda Heights Community Center
Who: All Active Opus Students
When: Sunday, May 15th, 2022
Program 1: 11:00 AM
Program 2: 12:30 PM
Program 3: 2:30 PM - FULL
Program 4: 4:00 PM - FULL
Cost: Free for students and guests
The deadline to sign up for this year's recital is April 27th and slots are going quickly so we encourage all interested students to enroll as soon as possible. No matter your skill level, we highly encourage all students to take part in this recital to not only help you become a better musician, but it allows students to show off the music skills they have learned, helps develop confidence, and allows friends and family to support our young musicians!

Opus Summer Tour Update
Official invitations have gone out to our Opus Summer Tour performers, who are headed to New York City this July! Check out these truly unique 3D invitations that personally invite our students to perform at the most prestigious concert stage in the US, Carnegie Hall!
Carnegie Hall has set the international standard for musical excellence as the aspirational destination for the world’s finest artists. Famous artists like Tchaikovsky, George Gershwin, Judy Garland, The Beatles, and Beyonce, represent the finest of every genre that have performed at Carnegie Hall throughout the years.
We still have a few performer spots available for students who wish to perform at Carnegie Hall on July 12, 2022! If you are an Opus student and interested, head to our Opus Summer Tour website.
And we received a safety update from Carnegie Hall that proof of a COVID-19 booster shot is no longer required. Participants only require vaccination for the primary dose(s). We are truly looking forward to this extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime experience!
March Madness Winner: Heaven p.
Our Opus March Madness Music Music Contest 2022 has officially come to an end and we're so proud of all our incredible students who entered in this online music video contest based on popular vote!
We're proud to announce our 1st Place winner is Heaven P.!
Heaven is a student of Mr. David and played a beautiful piano piece called “Classic Dance” that earned her the most votes across all 3 rounds of voting! She won free theme park admission to Disneyland!
A big congratulations to our 2nd and 3rd place winners: Enoch H. and Iris P. who rocked all the way to the finals with their musical abilities and won gift cards!
Enoch H. (age 8) earned 2nd place after wowing our audience with his creativity and superstar piano skills in his "Mario Melody Marathon" video!
Iris P. (age 5) took home 3rd place with her performance of "Rock Around the Clock" where she shared her amazing talents as a pianist and singer!

Certificate of Merit Exam 2022 Results
The results are in for the Music Teacher's Association of California's (MTAC) 2022 Certificate of Merit (CM) Exam and we have lots of outstanding piano students to acknowledge for passing this year's exam! A big congratulations to these fantastic students!
Origami Piano Contest Winner: Ariel S.
Last month, we had a Lobby Contest that challenged our students to get crafty by folding origami pianos. We were blown away by the artistic abilities of everyone who entered! Our teachers had a tough time picking just one favorite but in the end, piano student Ariel S. (age 10) took home 1st place for her gorgeous origami piano creation! She won an I Heart Boba gift card, congrats!
For the April Lobby Contest, we're putting your guessing skills to the test with our Count the Eggs Easter basket challenge! Make sure to hop over to our contest area in the lobby to enter your eggstimate!

1. What do you like the most about taking music lessons at Opus Music School?
What I like most about taking music lessons at Opus Music School is the lessons are not that complicated so I can understand them easier.
2. What do you like the most about your teacher?
What I like most about my teacher is that he helps me understand what I don't.
3. What is your favorite piece to play and why?
My favorite song to play is the song "Morning" because it sounds really nice and it's not so hard to play.
4. What challenges have you faced when learning music and how did you overcome it?
A challenge I had to face when learning music was trying to learn piano through Zoom.
5. What is your goal with music?
My goal with music is to perfect my piano.
6. What makes you unique? What are some of your other interests?
Something that interests me is pineapple on pizza!
