IMPORTANT: To maintain the safety of your financial information, ALL PARENTS/STUDENTS WILL NEED TO LOG IN TO THE NEW OPUS PORTAL TO INPUT YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION between October 2 and October 15, 2020.

You will receive a Welcome Email the 1st week of October with instructions on how to update your info.

With our new online portal, you can:

  • See all your upcoming lessons and classes

  • Cancel private lessons & book group makeup lessons

  • Manage your payment methods

  • Keep your contact information up to date

  • Register for events and classes

  • Send and receive files and documents to/from your teacher

Your next payment to Opus Music School on 10/1 will be unchanged and occur as scheduled. Your credit card from the new portal will be charged starting 11/1.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Holiday Video Recording Sessions

Since our annual Opus recital that typically occurs every January will likely not be able to occur this year, we are happy to announce that our private students will be given a video recording session opportunity!

How it works:

  • Students can make a free appointment between 11/5 to 11/7/20 to come to Opus Music School to video record a solo piece with a festive holiday backdrop.

  • You can perform 1-2 pieces of your choosing that is a total of 5 minutes or less.

  • You will receive a final edited video to share with family and friends!

It is FREE to participate for Opus active students! Just be sure make an appointment from the email sent to our active private students. Appointment times are first come, first serve.

Reopening Update

Currently we do not have an exact reopening date yet, but it does look like things are starting to improve in our county and non-essential businesses such as ours may be able to open sometime soon. We will be sure to announce our re-open date with at least 2 weeks notice.

While we would love to open our facility for in-person lessons, the safety of our students, staff, and community is of utmost importance. We are closely monitoring the situation and will follow CDC and County Health Department guidelines.

All lessons will remain online per local authority guidelines, and lessons will resume in person gradually when it will be safe to do so. For now, please enjoy your music lessons online.

As a reminder, once we do reopen, students can choose to do in-person lessons or stay online for as long as they would like.

New Logo and Website Coming Soon

We have recently gone through an update of our Opus Music School logo and our new website is coming soon! Here is the first look of the new and improved Opus the Octopus! Still the same guy, just more grown up!

Our new logo will be used on our upcoming website relaunch in October.

New updates to our website will include:

  • Login links for students to access our online portal

  • Ability for new students to book appointment times and make payments online

  • Student section that includes info about challenges and events

We hope you like it!

A Note From the Founder

We’ve enjoyed doing these updates. We find it’s a great tool to communicate with you and give you the latest news. First of all I want to give you a few shout outs and thank yous.
Number one to our students. Thank you to our students for being with us during this unusual time. It’s been a difficult year as you all know. But we’re getting through it and luckily our school has been able to continue doing lessons online.
That's why we are going to be offering our free holiday video recording session at no charge to our students so that our students can still experience the preparation and excitement of a live performance. I hope many of you sign up.

I also want to give a big shout out to all of our teachers. They have all been working very hard, and pivoted and adjusted. They’re doing awesome work teaching lessons online. So thank you teachers for all that you do!

And our office team and management is working tirelessly 7 days a week. We recently added a new Office Manager, Cindy Hachem, who comes from over 13 years of experience as an office manager of a preschool and we welcome her to our team. Thank you office team for doing an excellent job! I really appreciate you all.
We have some updates coming soon to Opus Music School, such as our new online student portal, rebranding, and updates to our school facility. We look forward to sharing with you soon.

Here’s to a great year of making music at Opus Music School.

Sincerely,
Ms. Theresa Cheng
