Halloween Performance Opportunity
Fall is almost in full swing which means some of our favorite holidays are just around the corner, like Halloween! The Hacienda Heights Community Center is putting on their annual Halloween event called “Trick or Treat Village” and they've asked Opus Music School students to help them provide musical entertainment at this outdoor event!
Any of our current active students are invited to sign up for this free community performance opportunity (first come first serve). No auditions necessary! You can play any piece or song of your choice and all performers are more than welcome to dress up, especially if you want to enter the costume contest!

Event Time: Wednesday, October 27, 2021, 5-8pm
Music Performances by Opus Music School: Between 5-6pm
This is a great performance opportunity for any of our superstar students who want to share their incredible talents with the community.
Even if you don't perform, you are more than welcome to attend. Opus Music School will be hosting a game and activity booth in the Trick or Treat Village.
Our school has been lucky enough to participate in this fun-filled event in past years and we anticipate this year will be even better than ever. We're looking forward to seeing our students putting on some boo-tiful performances and enjoying this awesome event!
Opus Music Festival Recap
We can't believe it's already been two weeks since the inaugural Opus Music Festival and we can't stop thinking about what a blast it was! With this being the 1st youth music festival in this area, and our 1st time producing an event of this size, we had no idea what to expect. What started out as a dream to give our students a true big stage festival experience turned into an out-of-this-world day with 300 attendees, 50 performers, 40 team members, 6 carnival booths, 6 free art classes, and 3 food trucks.
A big thank you to everyone for helping us make this day truly spectacular; our staff helped keep everything running smoothly, our incredible student performers and of course all the festival attendees for coming out to enjoy the day with us! Seeing all our amazing students and their families walk in wide eyed when seeing our festival main stage and all of the positive feedback on the music, carnival, and food made all the hard work that went into this day worth it.

Our Platinum Pop Stars Band, “The Magnesium Marvels” stealing the show as one of our headlining acts to close out the night.
We have received many requests to make Opus Music Festival an annual event for our students. Our team is going to take a breather and see what we learned from this festival to make this a possible annual event. Be sure to check in on both of our Instagram accounts, @opusmusicschool and @opusmusicfestival, as we continue to share all the highlights and magical moments from the day. We hope to see you all again next year for another musical spectacular!
Halloween Costume Contest
Last year we missed out on getting to see our student's super cool Halloween costumes in person, but now that our school is fully reopened for in personlessons we're getting back in the holiday spirit with our October Halloween Costume Contest!
All students, whether online or virtual, are invited to enter the costume contest and be in the running to win some awesome prizes! To enter, simply wear your costume to any of your lessons during the month of October.
If you're an in-person student we'll make sure to snap a picture of you before or after your lesson. For virtual students, you can either take a Zoom screenshot or take a picture of you before, during or after your lesson with your instrument and send that to our office through text at (626) 961-2625 or email it to us at info@opusmusicschool.com.
At the end of the month our staff will get together to select their favorites and decide our winners! We know we have some seriously creative students here at Opus so we're looking forward to seeing all the boo-tiful costumes in your lessons!
First Round of Brag Badges Coming this Month!
This Summer we announced our newest exciting reward program for Opus students: Brag Badges! These collectible pins celebrate milestones in a student's musical journey and our first badges will be issued this month to all eligible students!
If you have been enrolled at Opus Music School since July 2021, you are eligible to receive your first ever Brag Badges in October. To earn your badge, your teacher will ask you to play a show-off skill on your instrument. Then you can brag about your awesome new badge to celebrate your accomplishments in music!
If you've been enrolled in lessons since before July 2021, we haven't overlooked your dedication to music- you'll be receiving an exclusive, special edition Brag Badge to commemorate your musical journey with us!
For any online students, after you earn your badge you can either stop by in-person to collect your badge or have our office mail it straight to your home for $2 to cover shipping and handling. Just reach out to our office staff by calling or texting at (626) 961-2625 or by email at info@opusmusicschool.com and we'll be happy to coordinate everything with you so you can start showing off your music brag badges!
We're keeping our first two badge designs a surprise until they start heading to their new homes with our rockstar students!

With Opus Music School now fully re-opened for in-person and virtual lessons, we'd like to thank all of our amazing students and their families for your continued support and flexibility. As we navigated through these unprecedented times, you've made it possible for us to bring in-person music back for our students, both existing and new! We're so lucky to welcome back so many familiar faces as well as lots of new faces to our school however with this incredible response our teacher's schedules are quickly approaching maximum capacity, with some teachers already completely booked! Certain peak time slots are in especially high-demand such as Monday-Friday 3:30-6:30pm and Saturdays 10am-1pm. If you are a student who currently has one of these a time slots, we would like to give a reminder that you have a high-demand time slot, and if you switch out we cannot ensure that it will still be available if you would like the time back.
While our team is dedicated to helping you find the best time with your favorite teachers for your lessons, we unfortunately cannot always accommodate all requests, especially during peak hours. We greatly appreciate everyone's understanding and flexibility as we work to make sure all of our wonderful students are able to attend their lessons at a time that works best for them. With everyone's cooperation we can bring the gift of music to as many students as possible!
